Ram Mohan Pillai

Ram Mohan Pillai is the UAE Partner and Regional Director (Arabian Gulf) for Sanji Caldera Associates, bringing a wealth of experience and strategic insight to his role. As the Managing Director of the Haran Group of Companies, Ram oversees a diverse portfolio of business interests across the UAE, UK, and sub-Saharan Africa, including management consulting, FMCG procurement, duty-free retail, airport consultancy, and luxury customization services.

Under Ram’s leadership, the Haran Group achieved notable success, including being the first in the UAE to secure a retail franchise with Du Stores, where they enhanced performance and customer satisfaction, earning the prestigious Best Franchisee Award before completing the five-year contract.

Ram’s extensive career includes nearly a decade with Vodafone UK, where he advanced through their Graduate Development Programme and played a key role in the launch of 3G services. His expertise also includes consulting for Du Telecom in Dubai during its formative years.

A fervent advocate of business networking, Ram is the former Director – External Affairs for the Sri Lanka Business Council for Dubai and the Northern Emirates (SLBC) and a long-standing member of the British Business Group (BBG) and the Singapore Business Council (SBC). Originally from Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Ram relocated to the UK before settling in Dubai 15 years ago with his wife and two children.
