The immigration program implemented by the Canadian and various Provincial governments have proved to be very successful especially since they have invited over 341,180 new immigrants in 2019 alone. The point increment as per the recent months is a clear indication of the immense success of the Express Entry program introduced by the Canadian Government.

However, the increment is a cause for concern for many folks, especially ones between the CRS score of 450-470. The points don’t seem to come down any time soon and this makes the applicant explore other options and programs to gain Permanent Residency.

Provincial programs have become increasingly popular due to this and we have compiled a list of Provincial Programs for you:

Note that out of the following provinces, Saskatchewan, PEI, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia have the best scope for new immigrants as of now.

  1. Saskatchewan
  • You should have a profile in the Express Entry system
  • Minimum of 65 points is needed and you will be measured by age, education, work experience and language ability
  • All occupations are eligible except a few.
  1. Prince Edward Island
  • You must have an active profile in the Express Entry portal
  • An EOI must be lodged into the Prince Edward Island portal
  1. Alberta
  • You must have an active profile in the Express Entry
  • Applicants with CRS Points above 300 will be selected
  • Priority is given for applicants with a strong connection to the province
  1. Those who have a valid Alberta job offer and/or work experience,
  2. A graduate of an Alberta post-secondary institution.
  • Parent, child, brother and/or sister who is a permanent resident living in Alberta, or a Canadian citizen living in Alberta.
  1. Manitoba
  • You must have an active profile in the Express Entry
  • Priority is given for applicants with a strong connection to the province
  1. High points are allocated for people who have a relative or friend living in Canada as a Permanent resident or citizen.
  1. Nova Scotia
  • To lodge an EOI your occupation must be in the demand occupation stream.
  • Very limited jobs are eligible for this province
  1. Ontario
  • You must have an active profile in the Express Entry
  • Ontario sends out NOIs who has points above 400
  • Ontario sends out NOIs to EE applicants with occupations that they determine as high demand from time to time and their quota is much higher than other provinces
  1.  British Columbia
  • Job offer is mandatory
  1. New Brunswick
  • To lodge an EOI the applicant the applicant should currently live and work in the province and a letter of employment from the employer must be included in the EOI.
  1. Northwest Territories
  • To be considered under the PNP you must have a job offer
  1. Nunavut
  • They don’t have a separate EOI system and they select applicants from the EE pool. This doesn’t happen frequently, and they have a very limited quota.
  1. Yukon
  • Job offer is mandatory
